The creations of Lyn Swan quickly gained my attention. Minimal and playful – her items are very original and whimsical and this collection in particular inspired by nature.

As Lyn notes in her online shop: “I was born to work in clay, ever since I remember I have been addicted to clay and been producing for over thirty five years .... yikes ..... that seems a long time, but time flies when you are having fun!” And it surely shows that the artist puts her heart in her pieces.

Gabriel Dishaw has been creating sculptures from junk since the 1990's. All his creations are constructed from disassembled found objects like typewriters, adding machines and old computer parts. His stunning collection of Nike shoes display his brilliant attention to detail in representing forms.

In AMiRA you’ll find a lovely collection of textile accessories in a wide variety of bright colors and designs. The designer uses a number of materials, including leather, fabric, yarn and ribbon and also accepts custom orders!

As she states in her online shop: “As an artist and teacher, Amira is captured by the process of creating, exploring paint and other materials, and experiencing the act of art”.

Chris Brett is a Toronto based mixed media artist with a truly rich and fresh portfolio. It’s easy to see how much urban art and especially graffiti has influenced his work.

As I read in his site: “Chris’ work has a slightly goofy and jaded sense of humor; a laugh to keep from crying sense of mania in rich color and dark tones. A reaction to the good & bad things that life can sometimes hand you.”

Take a look at his delicious spray can art! How original is that?!!

How about coloring your dress according to your mood? Yes, you heard correctly!

The “Colour-In Dress” by Berber Soepboer and Michiel Schuurman gives you the opportunity to include a unique item in your wardrobe, as you can color the textile patterns yourself.

A very cool and creative idea indeed!

The Enchanted Doll

Marina Bychkova is a young super talented doll maker. Her porcelain doll figures are so delicate and expressive, a true tribute to feminine beauty. The brand name “Enchanted Doll” origins from a fictional story of Paul Gallico, where a woman who created dolls put so much love in them and consequently enchanted people at first sight with their life-like beauty.

As the artist states: “My need to work with dolls became evident as a calling when I was six years old. As a child I became painfully aware and appalled at the mediocrity and the uninspired dullness of mass-produced dolls. This profound frustration coupled with my natural sensibilities inspired me to create my own dolls, suited to my own ideas of feminine beauty. A particular point of interest for me was not only the life-like articulation of the body, but also the beautiful balance between a delicate form and an extraordinary function of a doll.”
