I simply love these “existential sketches” by Manolis Zoulakis, a very talented artist and friend of mine.
Raw, rough lines create portraits that overflow with emotion, intensity and untold pain, underlining the ache of being a true human being.

Japanese artist Yumiko Kayukawa combines western pop art imagery with traditional manga-style illustrations. Her colorful creations are obviously influenced by nature and folklore references. Forms and texture play a vital role in Helene Loussier’s artwork, a painter who lives and creates in a small village in the south of Paris. Vivid colors, symbolic objects (such as the barcode) characterize her conceptual and emotive paintings.
A young designer with a background in fashion and textile design is the creator of these intriguing conceptual collages. The eye as a prevailing symbol is used in all three selections of her artwork. This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
Strange but unbearably cute creatures and dreamy landscapes consist the colorful and surreal world of Aris Falegos aka azbeen. Make sure to check out his fantastic site, as it is unfolds a story by itself. Raphael Vicenzi aka My Dead Pony is the self taught creator of these breathtaking illustrations.
Digital media mixed with watercolor, sketches and typography lead to very intense, emotive visuals and collages. These colorful, 3D, totem-like creations are unlike anything I have ever seen. Small pieces of cut out wood, assembled together, forming sculptures of bright colored art gods ready to devour you. Aj Fosik, the man behind these abstract creatures currently lives and creates in Phila, PA. Shilin aka Ashen Ray is a 20 year old girl with an apparent taste and talent in manga and fan art character design.
Her illustrations are vibrant, professionally colored and her sense of depicting motion is, undoubtedly, inspiring. Panagiotis Pantazis aka Pan Pan is one of my fav greek comic artists. Illustrating short stories in urban environments and lonely, yet expressive characters who carry their own skeletons in the closet.
Pan Pan is also working on an ongoing music project which accompanies his artwork. Take a closer look at his world. New media artist Dimitrios Fotiou amazes us with his 3D digital renderings, also available in high quality prints. As he mentions in his site: “What I do now, is to design something that comes from an idea or research via computers and digital technology in addition to fine art concepts and practice. The result is the production of contemporary artwork that may take place either on the web or in the real space.” |
