Some info I found on the illustrator’s site: “Through experiments with various processes, production methods and design styles, Krzysztof seeks to discover, explore and represent everything that is visual. This often leads him to some self-initiated pieces and collaborations with kindred spirits in the field. Krzysztof holds a Master's Degree in Metal Techniques and Drawing from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan / Poland, the city where he currently lives and works.”

I discovered Ken Garduno as I was browsing the net and I was pleasantly surprised by his unique sketching style and awesome illustration skills. I really love the soft, dreamy and yet dark essence of his characters. The artist has graduated from the Art Center College of Design in California and participated in numerous exhibitions. Really looking forward to viewing new work by Ken. I love the colors and the whimsical drawing style of this gouache and ink painting collection by Nina Moscrip, the talented artist behind Artquirk! Selected corners and architectural drawings from Edinburgh, Dublin and Venice. Nina notes “I love to capture the colours, lines and characters in architecture and nature, or anything else that catches my eye!”.
I certainly trust her taste! I’ve been a fan of Elli Griva’s artwork the minute I laid my eyes on her paintings! It seemed to me like an explosion of colored emotions and symbols, a natural and pure attempt to reveal her inner self, thoughts, dreams and fears through vivid, persistent and abstract brushstrokes! There is so much going on in her work, makes you want to explore and discover every tiny detail.
Matte Stephens is a young artist living and creating in Portland: “I love modern design and im inspired by anything Charles and Ray Eames ,Alexander Girard, George Nelson/Irving Harper and artists like Ben Shahn and Paul Klee.”
I really like the consistency in his artwork, his color palette is amazing and the overall atmosphere in his pieces bear an essence from the past. A lovely and original themed art collection by Norwegian artist Gunilla Holm Platou. A playful world where cows inhabitants are depicted in her watercolor and gouache series. Funny, joyful and whimsical, these prints are guaranteed to leave a huge smile on your face. They did on mine! The artist started her career in adveritising, worked as a TV presenter and finally during 2002 decided to become a full time artist.
Jen Skelley’s portfolio is a pattern paradise! Drawn in the finest detail, her themes range from daily objects to cute animals, fonts and even buildings! Colors, forms and patterns are perfectly balanced and combined. Most of her artwork is hand screen painted and released in limited editions. Take a look at her etsy shop for a wonderful collection of patterned candies! [click on the images above to view in more detail]
Charming & emotive characters appear in Nan Lawson’s fresh color world! Simple lines, warm colors and a very interesting and appealing quirky drawing style are the main attributes of this beautiful illustration collection. A very affordable set of prints is available in the artist’s etsy shop! I’m definitely getting one soon! A former graphic designer, Dilka decided to dedicate her creativity in being a full time artist. I believe she took the right decision! Her watercolors and acrylics on wood travel the viewer in magical worlds of visual pleasure and mystery. I particularly appreciate the balance in her color palette and the stylized attributes of her illustrated characters. Browsing through her online shop one can find a variety of whimsical illustrations. Imagine her prints in light colored wooden or white matte frames. Pure pleasure! I was amazed by the beautiful depictions of innocence and love for nature when I browsed through Hidden Eloise’s illustrated world. I absolutely love the earthly tones and balanced color palette in her pieces.
As the artists notes in her online bio: “I get inspired by silent creatures, faded memories of childhood, childish scribblings, monochromatic lithographies, repetitive mechanical sounds of bizarre gadgets with no apparent use, old toys, vintage illustrations from children's books and waiting for a rainbow to appear after the endless rains here in England.” |
