Point of View

Contemporary mixed media artist and sculptor Gilles Barbier creates installations that are destined to make us skip a heartbeat. Surreal, bold and provocative, his human formed characters are found in situations that may seem exaggerated but, from my point of view, are meant to trigger our awakening and realization of our, some times, ill natured human behavior.

I also found this video where a curator talks about one of Barbier’s sculptures entitled: “In the soup, a cheddar fondue and three nightmares, speech bubbles (tenant & owner), isolated segments (the infinite assassin) and bananas.”

Be Happy Now

What I enjoy in Jenny Meilihove’s artwork is that it is like poetry! Whimsical, refreshing, dreamy, surreal …

The illustrator currently lives and creates in Israel and she notes: “I want my artworks to bring happiness to everyone. I want people to forget about all the troubles they have, and emotionally participate in pleasant situations I capture in my works. I think that in order to be happy, we don’t need much. The tiny uplifting things that each of us can easily find in our daily life can make us very happy, if we think seriously about for just a moment, and without any effort (like giving a big big hug to a tiny cat, or to imagine your dream comes true)… We just need to remember to dream, when we still do another and important things.”

The intense portraits of women created by Brian Viveros are provocative, dark and draw you in with their captivating eroticism. His manic smoking subjects appear like they survived a fierce fight, and are captured posing vaguely, arrogantly with a mysterious and fixating gaze.

A very expressive and emotive collection of visuals with a wonderful color palette and urban feel!

Make sure to check out the artist’s site for more inspiration!

Fresh & colorful, each one of Josh Ellingson’s illustrations have a story to tell! The illustrator lives and creates in San Francisco and has worked with numerous clients.

As he notes: “I’m influenced by popular culture, particularly television and movies, and I’ve also always been a fan of comic books and collectible toys. I’m enamored with science and scientific advancements and lately, astronomy has had a big impact on my work. There’s something about the scale of the cosmic level that makes my brain buzz.”
