In the case of Juan Osborne’s artwork, the famous saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is visualized through his illustrations!
I got an email from the artist, introducing me to the design technique he uses for creating portraits as well as representations of paintings: “As first step I usually count words of books, speeches, movies, etc... With the results I recreate images using the words in size proportional to the repetitions. The more times the word is used the bigger it is. Other times I just use words related to the subjet and spread it over the image. The final image is a resolution independent pdf image that can be fit in high size panels or even in a wall or facade.”
Juan Osborne is an architect, designer and programmer and can also create your custom portrait, using your photos and word selections. Check out his site for a full overview of his portfolio and more details concerning his illustration approach.
