I love the natural feel of DiTerra’s pottery. The crafter notes: “I enjoy pottery because of it's calming affect, I love sitting at the potter's wheel and watching the clay transform into something new. Pottery is so cool because you start the process with a block of clay and finish with a beautiful and functional piece of art. I especially love decorating and glazing my pieces. It's always fun experimenting with different glazes and slips (liquid clay applied like paint) because you never really know how it's going to come out of the kiln! Every time I get a new batch of pieces done, it's like opening presents at Christmas. I'm always excited to see what unfolds.”

An enchanting collection of whimsical creations sculpted in paper mache and handpainted by a true dreamer!
As the artist of Sweet Bestiary notes: “Each of those little beings is a bit of a beast. Be they quasi-animal or completely human. Something about them disturbs me -and touches me, at the same time. Bestiary is the title of my favourite story by Julio Cortázar, my favourite writer”. Diem Chau’s amazing porcelain art collection is noticeable both for its originality and its experimental humanistic approach. The artist explores the value of storytelling by attempting to convey memories through gesture and form.
The artist has graduated from Cornish College of Arts and has participated in numerous exhibitions. Gillian Swan is the London based designer of the Oscar & Victor Project, a minimal and design clock collection inspired by geological features and the interplay between shadows and angles. The playful geometrical patterns are very interesting and cool to look at and will absolutely look fantastic in any modern space. Tim Witteveen creates small samples of our natural world: mosses, stones and lichens placed within beautifully colored glass shapes that are certain to add a touch of green to one’s space. The designer has a background in illustration but gradually grew an interest for living dioramas within which he could unfold his creativity and love for nature. As he notes: “A well designed terrarium will stir your imagination and could transport you into a daydream. Look very closely, and you may see yourself as a child exploring the landscape within.” Stephane Halleux is the creator of these breathtaking steampunk inspired sculptures that are crafted from a wide variety of materials. The detail is amazing and his often surreal characters are filled with personality.
As the artist mentions: “I've always liked crazy mix of science, technology, with the romance vintage machinery”. Marina Bychkova is a young super talented doll maker. Her porcelain doll figures are so delicate and expressive, a true tribute to feminine beauty. The brand name “Enchanted Doll” origins from a fictional story of Paul Gallico, where a woman who created dolls put so much love in them and consequently enchanted people at first sight with their life-like beauty. As the artist states: “My need to work with dolls became evident as a calling when I was six years old. As a child I became painfully aware and appalled at the mediocrity and the uninspired dullness of mass-produced dolls. This profound frustration coupled with my natural sensibilities inspired me to create my own dolls, suited to my own ideas of feminine beauty. A particular point of interest for me was not only the life-like articulation of the body, but also the beautiful balance between a delicate form and an extraordinary function of a doll.” sjEngraving offers a fantastic range of ideas and variations on stone engravings. Either destined for a kind gift or for personal use, I believe that these decorative stones will definitely add a touch of nature and serenity in your living space.
As an artist myself, I have difficulties in finding the ideal frame for my artwork. So it was more than a pleasant surprise to discover the 2Dogs Wood Working frame studio. A wood working and framing team comprised of a husband, wife plus 2 dog helpers!
All frames are handmade: chopped, painted, joined and hand detailed, ensuring the uniqueness and originality of each piece. “As owners of a custom picture framing shop we were constantly looking for unique frames to offer to our clients. We could never find anything that we really thought made the artwork snap. Pretty much the same old frames in every store. So, we decided to try to make our own. After a lot of trials and errors ( and some darn right ugly looking colors and frames ) we finally got it right. The "Colored Barnwood Style" was the first of our frame collection. After that "Style" we were pretty much addicted to creating unique handmade frames.” The Wonderland Studio specializes in creating a magical and colorful atmosphere in your space. A perfect idea for nursery rooms if placed over the crib or changing table but also for decorating your living room of course! Just imagine these beautifully combined colors and shapes floating over your head! These kinetic mobiles are handmade, light and ideal if you want to give a vivid touch of color in your life. What’s even more interesting is that the designer welcomes custom orders that can match with your own décor. |
