The artist is a full time artist located in Knoxville and as he mentions: “My work is a expression of what I sees while hiking and camping in the Appalachian Mountains. It is based on how nature develops, grows, dies, then starts again. I like to engage in a nonverbal conversation about nature with the viewer through my paintings. They make me think abstractly about the process of life.”
Inspired by nature elements, Tracy Melton creates artwork out of slices of wood! Bold rings of acrylic color are painted on sanded and clear coated wood, automatically transforming it into a unique and contemporary piece of art.

Jennifer Meastre produces original sculptures made out of pencils! Hundreds of pencils are cut, sharpened and sewed together in order to create these amazing colorful art objects. Inspired by nature elements, the artist states “The sections of pencils present aspects of sharp and smooth for two very different textural and aesthetic experiences. Paradox and surprise are integral in my choice of materials. Quantities of industrially manufactured objects are used to create flexible forms reminiscent of the organic shapes of animals and nature. Pencils are common objects, here, these anonymous objects become the structure. There is true a fragility to the sometimes brutal aspect of the sculptures, vulnerability that is belied by the fearsome texture.” Meredith Dittmar creates 3d fantastic visual worlds made entirely from clay! The detail in her sculptures is amazing and the aesthetic result clearly of a higher level. She often uses elements inspired from the field of biology and technology. The artist lives and creates in Portland, Oregon. Through her company "Corporatepig" she creates thousands of handmade characters entitled “My Guys”.
These colorful, 3D, totem-like creations are unlike anything I have ever seen. Small pieces of cut out wood, assembled together, forming sculptures of bright colored art gods ready to devour you. Aj Fosik, the man behind these abstract creatures currently lives and creates in Phila, PA. |
