Eye striking paintings that dare the viewer to deal with hidden fears & anxieties. Intense colors, toys and objects, fluid forms, all arranged in an almost "sick" synthesis.
Eye striking paintings that dare the viewer to deal with hidden fears & anxieties. Intense colors, toys and objects, fluid forms, all arranged in an almost "sick" synthesis. Sander van Deurzen notes: "At this moment I'm working on paintings, influenced by photo's found in different media. These paintings which contain more carnavalesk images are metaphoric for a bizarre world, in which there is decay all around. The obsessive preference for being, and staying young, which is dictated by advertisement, is taken down in paintings where life is tragical and comical at the same time. The control people want to have on their lives is lost.”

Theo Gennitsakis is a Greek illustrator currently based in Paris.
Inspired by pop culture he creates digital collages and visuals rich in colors and forms. As an experienced designer he has worked on numerous interesting projects, participated in various exhibs and cooperated with major clients. Hyper cool characters pasted on walls in Athens. Dimitris Taxis stylized colorful designs brighten up the city and add a bit of magic. It’s always a pleasant surprise to discover artwork in public spaces. I adore street art. Casual walking in the city is transformed to a fascinating art haunt!! Everybody is familiar with Shepard Fairey’s work. His famous OBEY sticker campaign as well as the HOPE Obama Poster are two of his major achievements. As he mentions in 1990 “The OBEY sticker attempts to stimulate curiosity and bring people to question both the sticker and their relationship with their surroundings. Because people are not used to seeing advertisements or propaganda for which the product or motive is not obvious, frequent and novel encounters with the sticker provoke thought and possible frustration, nevertheless revitalizing the viewer’s perception and attention to detail. The sticker has no meaning but exists only to cause people to react, to contemplate and search for meaning in the sticker. Because OBEY has no actual meaning, the various reactions and interpretations of those who view it reflect their personality and the nature of their sensibilities”. What I love about his work is the draftsmanship of his forms and textures. Striking visuals that dare you to look in order to convey a very clear and strong message.

Born in Toronto in 1958, Ray Caesar claims he was born as a dog. His surreal artwork is mainly depicting porcelain–like figures who seem to belong to another era. He uses a 3D modeling software to create his detailed photographic textures and breathtaking environments and models.
Born in L.A. in 1979, Joshua Petker started meddling with art through graffiti, which steadily led him to fine arts. Acrylic paintings with bright juxtaposing colors portraying womens dark souls.
As he mentions “Well, besides the obvious of finding women beautiful I basically started painting girls when I attempted painting because I wasn't really looking to anyone but Klimt for guidance. Since then, I've sort of built my visual language through the expressions of women.” Sketches, color, textures, typography, all mixed into eye catching abstract collages with a graphic touch.
