The uniqueness and originality of cocopunkz shoes goes without saying! This fantastic hand painted collection is created by two artists with a passion for style and design.
As they note: “We never fully repeat or duplicate a style and we definitely don't use templates or stamps. Everything is lovingly hand painted and we set a very high standard for ourselves. We don't post our shoes unless we are both satisfied with the results. We hope you love our shoes as much as we do.” Oh yes we DO! In Middleburg one can discover an amazing collection of unique handcrafted art sculptures made with the technique of papier mache. Susan uses pulp coming from 100% recycled paper and creates pieces of a high aesthetic level with an interesting balance between contemporary and antique. Using paper from old vintage textbooks White Serenade creates unique handmade wreaths that would instantly add a poetic touch in any room! An imaginative decoration idea, especially for dreamers and romantics! As the artist states “I've always been driven to create, and I have a passion for drawing and reclaiming and repurposing materials. I love transforming something that might otherwise end up in a landfill into something beautiful, functional, and one-of-a-kind”. Since I am a genuine pillow maniac I couldn’t resist presenting these adorable owl creations by Fong’s Studio. Cute little creatures handmade using cotton felt. Look at these patterned fabrics!
Perfect for hugs and decorating your sofa of course! Using different techniques and experimenting with various designs and unusual materials is Kallia’s secret in creating unique and delicate jewelry and accessories for her wonderland collection. I really love the retro feel in most of her pieces. A charming origami collection by Funny Sky! Her elegant creations are handmade using paper made in Japan and decorated with genuine Swarovski crystals and Japanese beads. Origami, (from oru meaning “folding” and kami meaning "paper") is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one piece of paper.
The number of basic origami folds is small, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. The most well known form is probably the Japanese paper crane. In general, these designs begin with a square sheet of paper whose sides may be different colors or prints. (article from wikipedia) Transforming clay to unique design objects is Jennifer Nesbitt’s specialization. As the artist mentions “There's something wonderful about manipulating a shapeless lump of clay, and about seeing and feeling a idea take shape. When creating a piece, I'm conscious of form, symmetry (and intentional asymmetry), balance, proportion, and many other elements of aesthetic content. But I want each piece to appeal to the touch as well as the eye. I spend a lot of time on texture because it adds another dimension to the tactility of working with clay and lends a sense of movement and rhythm to the fixed object. I try to use colors to the same effect, combining and layering glazes to create interesting visual textures.”
I absolutely love the colorful minimalism and design aesthetics of JMN Pottery. Beautifully designed and crafted wooden brooches by Crafty Folk! Sarah sketches and illustrates her creations so her collection is unique and original. I have to confess that I adore the yellow typewriter! The artist lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Evrydiki’s handmade pieces are minimal, unique and very original. I particularly love the idea of the tiny blackboard embedded on a ring or worn as a necklace. It allows you to be imaginative, draw and wear your fav symbol or word. Check out her beautiful collection! |
